A stunningly simple appetizer that hits every taste bud: sweet figs, salty feta, and a touch of earthy rosemary. Perfect for effortless entertaining!
Wash the figs and pat them dry. Slice each fig in half from the stem down to the base.
Use a sharp paring knife to avoid squishing the delicate fruit.
Place the fig halves on a serving platter, cut-side up. Gently press a small amount of crumbled feta onto the center of each fig half.
If the feta is too crumbly, use a small spoon to create a little well in the fig first.
In a small microwave-safe bowl, warm the honey for about 10-15 seconds until it becomes very fluid. Stir in the minced rosemary.
Warming the honey helps the rosemary flavor infuse instantly.
Drizzle the rosemary honey over the feta-topped figs. Finish with a light drizzle of balsamic glaze and a sprinkle of crushed walnuts for crunch.
A zig-zag motion with the balsamic glaze makes these look like they came from a fancy bistro!
If you can find fresh mission figs, they are the absolute best for this! If you're using a balsamic glaze from the store, just make sure it's nice and thick so it doesn't run off the plate. These are best served immediately while the honey is still warm.
