Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to all purchases made on ChefXi, including chef subscriptions, platform fees, and digital products. By making a purchase, you agree to the terms below.

1. Subscriber Refunds (Monthly Plans)

ChefXi subscriptions to individual chefs are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis. If you cancel your subscription, you will continue to have access to the chef's content until the end of your current billing period. Partial-period refunds are not provided for voluntary cancellations of monthly plans.

2. Subscriber Refunds (Yearly Plans)

Yearly subscriptions are billed as a single annual payment. If you cancel a yearly subscription, you will retain access until the end of the annual billing period. No prorated refunds are provided for voluntary cancellations.

However, if you cancel a yearly subscription within 14 days of the initial purchase (or within 14 days of an annual renewal), you may request a full refund by contacting our support team. This 14-day window does not apply to monthly subscriptions.

3. First-Time Subscribers

If you are unsatisfied with a chef subscription within the first 48 hours of your initial purchase, you may request a full refund by contacting our support team. This applies only to first-time subscriptions to a specific chef and may not be used repeatedly. This benefit applies to both monthly and yearly plans.

4. Platform Fees (Chefs)

4a. Monthly Platform Fee

The Top Chef platform subscription ($99.99/month) is non-refundable once the billing cycle has begun. If you cancel your Top Chef subscription, you will retain Top Chef benefits (10% revenue fee, AI features, 500 recipes) until the end of the current billing period. After that, your account will revert to Free Chef (30% revenue fee, content limits, no AI features).

4b. Yearly Platform Fee

The Top Chef annual plan ($899.88/year) is non-refundable once the billing cycle has begun, except within the first 14 days of the initial purchase or annual renewal. If you cancel within this 14-day window, you may request a full refund. After 14 days, no prorated refunds will be issued for early cancellation.

4c. Free Chef Tier

The Free Chef tier has no platform fee and is not subject to this refund policy.

5. Digital Products

Purchases of digital products (cookbooks, meal plan downloads, presets, and other downloadable content) are final and non-refundable once delivered, as these are digital goods that cannot be returned. If a digital product is defective, corrupted, or substantially different from its description, you may request a refund within 7 days of purchase.

European Union customers: By confirming your purchase of a digital product, you consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that you waive your 14-day right of withdrawal under the EU Consumer Rights Directive once the download or access is provided. This waiver is presented and accepted at checkout before payment is processed.

6. AI-Generated Content

Some content on ChefXi, including certain recipes and posts, may be generated by AI features (such as Alive Mode and AI Assistant). Subscriptions that include access to AI-generated content are subject to the same refund terms as other subscriptions. Dissatisfaction with AI-generated content quality does not independently constitute grounds for a refund outside the standard refund windows described above.

7. Billing Errors

If you believe you were charged in error (duplicate charges, incorrect amounts, or unauthorized charges), please contact us within 30 days of the charge. We will investigate and issue a full refund if the charge was made in error. We may require reasonable documentation to verify billing errors.

8. Service Disruptions

In the event of extended service outages or platform issues that prevent you from accessing paid content for more than 72 consecutive hours, you may request a prorated credit for the affected period. Credits will be applied to your next billing cycle or refunded if you prefer.

9. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, contact our support team at support@chefxi.com with the following information:

  • Your account email address
  • The date of the charge
  • The reason for your refund request
  • Any relevant transaction IDs or screenshots

Refund requests are typically processed within 5–10 business days. Approved refunds will be credited to the original payment method. Depending on your bank or credit card company, it may take an additional 5–10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement.

10. Chargebacks

We encourage you to contact us directly before initiating a chargeback with your bank or credit card company. Filing a chargeback without first contacting ChefXi support may result in account suspension while the dispute is under review.

11. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this refund policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the Platform at least 30 days before taking effect. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of ChefXi after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
