This Creator Agreement ("Agreement") governs your use of ChefXi as a chef creator. By registering as a chef on ChefXi, you agree to the following terms in addition to our general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
ChefXi offers two creator tiers:
ChefXi deducts a platform fee from your subscriber revenue before transferring funds to your Stripe Connect account. Free Chefs pay a 30% platform fee on each subscriber payment. Top Chefs pay a 10% platform fee. In both cases, standard payment processing fees (Stripe fees, typically 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction) are deducted separately by Stripe.
ChefXi calculates your platform fee based on the gross subscriber payment amount, then transfers the remainder to your Stripe Connect account. Stripe processing fees (typically 2.9% + 30¢) are absorbed by ChefXi and do not reduce your payout.
If a subscriber pays $10/month and you are a Top Chef (10% platform fee): ChefXi deducts $1.00 (10%) and transfers $9.00 to your Stripe Connect account. If you are a Free Chef (30% platform fee): ChefXi deducts $3.00 and transfers $7.00 to your account. In both cases, Stripe's processing fee is paid by ChefXi, not you. Your connected Stripe account may have its own payout fees for bank transfers, which are set by Stripe and outside ChefXi's control.
Subscriber revenue is transferred to your Stripe Connect account on a rolling basis. Stripe's standard payout schedule applies (typically 2–7 business days after a charge, depending on your country and Stripe account settings). ChefXi does not hold or delay payouts beyond Stripe's standard processing time.
There is no minimum payout threshold. All earned revenue is transferred according to Stripe's standard schedule regardless of amount.
If a payout fails due to issues with your Stripe Connect account (incorrect bank details, account suspension, identity verification issues), ChefXi is not responsible for the delay. You are responsible for maintaining a valid and active Stripe Connect account.
You are solely responsible for reporting and paying all applicable taxes on income earned through ChefXi. ChefXi does not withhold taxes from your payouts.
ChefXi does not provide tax advice. Consult a qualified tax professional for guidance on your specific tax obligations.
If you cancel your Top Chef subscription, you will retain Top Chef benefits until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account will revert to Free Chef. Upon downgrade:
You retain full ownership and intellectual property rights to all original content you create, including recipes, meal plans, cookbooks, community posts, and digital products. By publishing content on ChefXi, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, host, store, reproduce, and promote your content within the Platform and in marketing materials. This license ends when you remove the content or close your account (subject to reasonable caching and backup periods of up to 30 days).
Content generated by ChefXi's AI features (Alive Mode, AI Assistant, AI Studio) on your behalf is published under your chef profile. You acknowledge that:
This Agreement is non-exclusive. You are free to publish your content on other platforms, your own website, or through other channels. ChefXi does not require exclusivity for any content.
To receive subscriber payments, you must complete Stripe Connect onboarding, which includes identity verification and bank account setup. You are responsible for maintaining an active Stripe Connect account in good standing. ChefXi is not responsible for payment delays caused by Stripe account issues, failed identity verification, or bank account problems.
You are responsible for delivering value to your subscribers through regular content updates. ChefXi provides analytics and subscriber management tools but does not guarantee subscriber retention. Subscribers may cancel at any time. Refunds to subscribers are handled according to the ChefXi Refund Policy.
ChefXi reserves the right to remove or restrict access to any content that violates our Terms of Service, Content Standards, or applicable law, including content that is reported through our DMCA process. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before removing content, except in cases where immediate removal is necessary to prevent harm or comply with legal requirements.
If your content is removed, you may appeal the decision by contacting creators@chefxi.com. Appeals will be reviewed within 10 business days.
Either party may terminate this Agreement at any time. Upon termination:
ChefXi may terminate this Agreement immediately if you materially breach these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or violate applicable law.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy, safety, and legality of your recipes and content, including AI-generated content published under your profile. ChefXi is not liable for any harm resulting from users following your recipes or advice.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ChefXi, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your content, your use of the Platform, or your violation of this Agreement or applicable law.
Disputes arising under this Agreement are subject to the dispute resolution and arbitration provisions in our Terms of Service (Section 13), including the class action waiver.
We may update this Agreement from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days before taking effect. Your continued use of ChefXi as a chef creator after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Agreement. If you do not agree to the changes, you may terminate this Agreement before the changes take effect.
